REIKI
The Usui Method of Reiki is a powerful yet gentle method of healing touch,
designed to bring profound peace and healing to the mental, physical and
emotional body. This system can relieve pain as it creates a deep state of
relaxation. Research studies have shown that healing touch accelerates the
body's own natural healing process and can increase immune building blood cells.
It is most helpful for self care, as well as caring and healing for another.
Children and animals are particularly receptive to this natural method. It can
also be used in conjunction with other modalities such as massage therapy and
psycho-therapy, as well as traditional medical models including chemotherapy,
radiation and surgery. Reiki can be learned by anyone. Certified programs are
taught in full day intensive workshops and weekend formats.
Usui Reiki Lineage
Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki in the late 1800's while on a 21 day meditative retreat atop Mount Kori-yama in Japan.
Dr. Hyashi - Received the Master Attunement from Dr. Usui in 1925
Hawayo Takata - Received the Master Attunement in 1938 from Dr. Hyashi.
She then initiated 22 Masters in the United States before she died. The following are 2 of the original 22.

Applying Reiki along with "state of the art" imagery and empowerment techniques has proven to help lessen the trauma of surgery, quicken the recovery period and create greater ease in the body and mind. It is most helpful before surgery, birth or any invasive process such as chemo therapy and radiation. The client is given a customized imagery and empowerment tape to reinforce the positive suggestions.
